Family Justice Center

The Family Justice Center of St. Joseph County serves as a one-stop help center for victims of domestic/family violence, sexual assault, and stalking, as well as individuals 50 years or older who are survivors of financial exploitation and elder abuse. The FJC is a non-profit agency that helps victims and their families quickly and confidentially seek information, and easily access resources to help them escape the cycle of violence and move toward healing. By having these services in one building, victims and their families can more easily receive the help they need.

Another component of the FJC is S-O-S, the rape crisis center for St. Joseph County which provides 24-hour crisis intervention, support, and advocacy for victims of rape, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and domestic violence. Hospital accompaniment at the area hospital emergency departments is offered. Support groups and counseling are available on-site.

The St Joseph County Family Violence/Special Victims Unit

The SVU office is committed to serving St. Joseph County families who have experienced any type of domestic abuse. In an effort to fulfill this commitment, the Special Victims Unit offers the following services free of charge: Assistance in filling out paperwork for protective orders, 911 cellular phones, individual case management/advocacy, and referrals
